"Kymberlyn Lacy's designs exude sophistication, elegance, and character."
I'm Kymberlyn Lacy, your above average go getter. I am the Former Senior Vice President of the Black Interior Designer's Network. I am an interior designer, philanthropist, blogger, motivational speaker, and serial entrepreneur. I am greatly sought after for not only my architectural and interior design services but also for my business acumen and effective leadership skills, where I bring an interdisciplinary approach to leadership and a professional perspective that dovetails with best practices in my respective industry. I have single-handedly developed strategic partnerships with national powerhouses such as IMC, Uttermost, Williams-Sonoma, The Pottery Barn, Verizon Wireless, and Hilton Hotels to only name a few. My philanthropic efforts and commitment to social change has garnered numerous awards and even an official day "Kymberlyn Lacy Day" in my honor. My love and dedication for mentoring young interior designers and creatives has lead to a partnership with the STEM Coalition to integrate the field of architecture and interior design as an identifiable, integral component of STEM education. I strive to help others create a life full of meaning and beauty, in and out of the home. I want to welcome you. Take off your shoes and stay awhile!
Kymberlyn V. Lacy, M.Ed., LEED, GC
As a child, I enjoyed clipping pictures from magazines to create inspiration boards and playing in my father's antique store. My gift and passion for interior design was fueled after my childhood home was engulfed in flames, deemed a total loss, and witnessing my baby brother being severely burned on over 90% of his body.
The devastation of the fire left me with emotional scars that would later illuminate the pathway to my destiny and purpose in life. After the fire, my father obtained his contractor's license so that he could officially oversee the building of our new home. Against my mother's will, I dissed the traditional duties of a southern belle. I had a desire and inclination to tag-along with my father, as a daddy's girl, my father allowed me to do just that. While working alongside my father, I was free to explore and I became intrigued with the development of blueprints, paint|finishing selections, the day to day logistics of a contractor, and of course mastering power tools.
My childhood experiences cultivated my gift, passion, and the purpose behind my brand. As a single parent entering college, I was determined to debunk every myth and statistic that was associated with being a teen mother. Being that my great-grandfather was one of the pioneers to desegregate the schools in the South there was a lot of emphasis placed on education in my family. So rightfully so, education was the tool that I used to forge my path. It wasn't until my position in education administration was eliminated. A defining moment to say the least, I decided to leave my initial career path in education administration and to foster my love of interior design by studying interior design as a post-baccalaureate at the University of Central Arkansas and later the Masters in Architecture and Interior Design program at The Academy of Art University (San Francisco, CA) .
I walked through the fire to create a brand that inspires and motivates people to live their lives with style, flair, and functionality. International Flair Designs fully captures my heart and creative spirit. My design style boasts sophistication, elegance, and timelessness and I will stop at nothing to curate the perfect residential or commercial space for each client.
At International Flair Design, my team and I are dedicated and trained to make your vision a reality!
